The shooting began around 7 a.m., leaving a 25-year-old man with two gunshot wounds to his arm. He received treatment and was reported in stable condition. Authorities described the incident as a targeted attack involving hospital coworkers. Reports indicated that five shots were fired in the parking lot, with one striking a nearby vehicle. Employees sheltered behind barricaded doors as police responded. One medical assistant recalled a coworker shouting for her to get into her car, followed by the sight of armed officers moving through the parking garage.

According to 7 News Detroit, the suspect later surrendered at a home in Macomb Township after police reached him by phone and instructed him to come outside. Authorities had not confirmed his identity, and the circumstances behind the attack remained unclear. For staff who witnessed the emergency, the victimโ€™s stable condition offered reassuranceโ€”but the shock of encountering gunfire at work remained central to their accounts.
